When it comes to critiques, normally I am not compelled to give a full five stars in all five categories, however, this piece is outstanding. Your works seem to surprise me, despite having raised my expectations for you every time you draw something. Everything about this painting is precise and perfect. The shape of the eye itself is pristine, I cannot imagine a more feminine shape, the lids flow together so naturally.
The colors are fantastic, and seem to clash so perfectly somehow. The bright greens and yellows in the eye provide such a vivid center, drawing you in, while the bold purple and red accents around the eye draw you outward as well. The shading and depth is fluid and clean, despite using a rough edged brush. Your blending style and coloring methods are superb.
Going back to the iris, the detail there is unbelievable, from the gold flecks around the pupil, to the ridges and flecks of dark green and brown circling the center.
The light gleams and shine spots are believable and bright, without being overbearing. While the lighter spots are more fantastical, the bluish gleam on the right side of the eye itself is more grounded in realism, as is the iris, bringing the whole piece together in such a way that it feels realistic, but full of fantasy. The purple feathers and textures below the eye seem to add the final touch of fantasy, making the piece a whole against a perfect brown grunge background.
